South Africa: Cape Town, Part II

| Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden |

Since Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens were not walking distance from the hostel we decided to make a quick stop before we had to return the car. I had read wonderful things about these famous botanical gardens and they did not disappoint. The landscape was amazing and the tree canopy walk had excellent views. I wish I could have spent the day there lounging in the grass until the summer concert started that evening. Next time.

| Bo-Kaap |

Avis was next to the neighborhood of Bo-Kaap so after we popped champagne and celebrated not crashing the rental car we walked through the colorful few blocks. I was looking forward to visiting Bo-Kaap more than anything else. Colorful houses are my weakness. Bo-Kaap is not a neighborhood you want to walk around alone so for those solo travelers there is an afternoon walking tour, which would probably be excellent. I wish I learned a little more about the history of the neighborhood but I guess I'll just have to settle for a Google search.
